TAKE BACK THE NIGHT

    Please join us for DuPage County's 19th annual rally and march to fight against rape and other forms of sexual and domestic violence.

October 1, 2011

3pm – 7:30pm Central Park

104 E. Benton Ave. in Naperville

(this event is free and open to the public and will occur rain or shine!)

       

    The purpose of Take Back the Night is to raise awareness of the problems of child abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault, prevent future violence, and empower survivors of abuse.

    • 3:00pm -Browse booths by local organizations and displays including The Silent Witness figures, The Clothesline Project, and listen to live music                   
    • 4:30pm –Keynote speaker- Donna V. Werner- GEMS Sisters of Chicagoland
    • 5:15pm -Survivor Speak-Out and rally
    • 6:30pm -March through downtown Naperville
    • 7:15pm -Closing ceremony by candlelight

Mission Statement: To raise awareness of the problems of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse, prevent future assaults, and empower survivors of such abuse; to educate DuPage County and its environs; to end sexual violence by sponsoring rallies, vigils, speak-outs, parades, media interviews, the Clothesline Project, letters to the editor, press releases, and other events and activities; to raise funds to educate the community to end sexual violence; and to lend its name, staff and/or volunteers in coalition with government, private and public agencies, and with other groups who are in accordance with our mission statement.
